Thanks, Chellisa, so nice to meet you as well. Sebastopol is in northern CA, about 75-80 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge, in SF. It is about 20 minutes from the Pacific ocean, where I often go to "chill", although I already live a pretty idyllic life. Yes, all the fires are way south of me, thank god. Even though I live in a very rural area, we have lots of farms and vineyards nearby, so everything stays watered and moist with fog from the ocean, so our fire danger is pretty slim.
Good for you for getting started on the raw path, isn't it amazing how things shift once you start eating this way? I've been at it about 18 months now, and still eat a few cooked things, some grains, a few veggies, and I still eat some rice crackers and corn chips (I haven't been able to duplicate that "crunch") but lots of fruit right now coming from the orchard and berries and grapes, plus all the veggies from the garden. I've been enjoying eating raw zucchini shredded with a grater, added to my salads. The tomatoes are starting to ripen, so that will be a mainstay for a while, and I'll probably dry some as well. I just did a big banana drying project, plus some apples and pears.
blessings,
Raybo
